Headteacher's Welcome
‘Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.’ (1 Corinthians 11:1)
A very warm welcome to Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School. We are very proud of our Christ-centred learning community which is formed and led by our Mission Statement.
The living out of this Mission Statement challenges each and every one of us on a daily basis and our aim is to practise what it says. Every human being is created in God’s image and likeness and therefore is valuable and worthy of respect. We strive to find the best possible quality care and education for children with different gifts and talents.
‘I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.’ (John 10:10)
Our children make excellent progress in Reading, Writing and Mathematics, significantly above average when compared to local and national schools. Our curriculum recognises and develops the uniqueness of each child through the provision of broad and balanced learning experiences that are both enriching and challenging. We want every child to experience the very highest quality cultural education and are proud to offer children weekly lessons in Art, Music, Spanish and PE taught by specialist teachers.
‘For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptised into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.’
(1 Corinthians 12:12)
Our aim is to nurture the 'whole child'. Developing the children emotionally, spiritually and socially is vital in allowing each individual to flourish and reach their full potential as a child of Christ.
We aim to educate and inform children so that they can take their place in society with an attitude of service and commitment to the common good. We fully recognise that the parents/carers are the first and prime educators and we aim to involve you as much as possible in your child’s education.
Every blessing,
Mr Simon Lennon
