Inclusion

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At Corpus Christi we promote a fully inclusive curriculum reflecting our Catholic mission statement:

Joyfully, unique in Jesus' family, we learn to use our special gifts to love, serve and make the world a better place.

This includes the way in which we organise the classroom, the materials we use to teach the children, our teaching pedagogy and the way in which we tailor the curriculum to meet individual needs.

All children are valued, respected and welcomed to the school whatever their additional educational needs. We will support their learning and ensure they are fully included in all school activities, making full use of externally provided facilities and support where appropriate.

We work closely with parents and other schools and settings, to ensure effective and appropriate transition takes place both on arrival and departure.

Our SEND School Information report was created in consultation with a group of parents. One of their suggestions was to include a glossary of terms. You will find all of the terms in bold print in the glossary link.
