Eco Silver Award
As part of our Catholic approach to the curriculum, we adopt a See Judge Act methodology. This means identifying something we believe we need to change, driven by our Gospel Virtues, and to take action to make a positive difference.
As a school community, we want to develop children’s understanding of how we can protect the precious world that God has given to us. We want to empower children to drive change and improve their environmental awareness to make the world a better place.
At Corpus Christi, we have a dedicated Eco Committee, which is composed of children from Years 1 to 6, as well as members of staff from across the school and governors. Having conducted an Environmental Review, our Eco Committee identified that we need to focus on making a positive impact in three key areas - Waste, Energy and Marine.
We are extremely proud to be part of the internationally recognised Eco Schools Green Flag Award and are working towards our first green Flag this year.
World Wildlife Fund Australian Bushfire Appeal Day
24 January 2020
We would like to thank all of our children and their families for showing such wonderful support for the bushfire crisis on our Australian Bushfire Appeal Day. The children wore colours of the Australian flag and brought in items related to Australia, including maps, flags, cork hats and many furry koalas.
Your donations will help to support the vital work of the WWF, including:
Providing emergency funds to care for injured wildlife
After the fires clear, helping restore homes for koalas and other wildlife, planting the first 10,000 trees urgently needed in koala habitats
Helping pressure governments to strengthen laws that prevent excessive tree-clearing, before it's too late
Thanks to your kindness and generosity, we have raised £310 for the WWF, one of the key charities working in the response, recovery and restoration programme in Australia.
